Front design. Iconic front design. BMW ‘Iconic Glow’ crystal headlights with Swarovski crystal elements and an illuminated kidney contour radiate personality.

Side view. The flowing lines transform the sheer size of the new BMW i7 into aesthetically proportioned spaciousness. A chrome element highlights the Hofmeister kink like a precious jewel.

Rear design. Narrow, L-shaped rear lights and slim chrome strip emphasise the effect of breadth. Blue design elements signal the innovative drive system.

SUSTAINABILITY.

The BMW i5 also makes a contribution on the way towards a more sustainable future. By employing secondary materials and making use of green electricity in the manufacturing process, we are already optimising the CO2 footprint of the BMW i5 even before it is handed over to you. During the journey, the innovative technologies of EfficientDynamics ensure the perfect balance between efficiency and performance. Furthermore, the BMW i5 offers the option of a vegan interior for the very first time.

Narrow, L-shaped rear lights and slim chrome strip emphasise the effect of breadth. Blue design elements signal the innovative drive system. The multifunctional control of the BMW Interaction Bar extends horizontally across the entire cockpit. The multimedia experience is complete with the 14.9" BMW Curved Display.

Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof. The Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge allows a lot of light into the interior during the day. At night it creates an incomparable ambience by using dynamic light effects.

Minimalist interior design.

The interior design is modern and pared down to the essentials – a focus which can be noted in the displays and controls. As the central control element, the glassy iDrive Controller on the centre console is framed by an elegant control panel made of FSC-certified wood.

Lounge seats in the rear.

Thanks to the absence of the central tunnel, the BMW iX offers a spacious lounge atmosphere for the rear passengers. Additional options for the rear seats include heating and 3D loudspeakers integrated into the headrests. The rear seat backrest splits in a 40 : 20 : 40 ratio to extend the capacity of the luggage compartment.

Panorama glass roof.

The full-length, "Sky Lounge" panoramic glass roof creates a generous sense of space and a relaxed lounge atmosphere within the cabin. It can be electrochromatically shaded for more privacy and, since there is no need for an interior headliner, it offers passengers even more headroom with a modern feel.

BMW Curved Display.

The BMW Curved Display, installed for the first time in a production vehicle, serves as the central display and control element for the fully digital stage of the BMW iX. The 12.3″ information display merges with the 14.9″ Control Display to form a single unit and creates the impression of a free-floating picture frame on the instrument panel.

EXTERIOR HIGHLIGHTS.

Even in the dark: unmistakable.

The BMW kidney Iconic Glow becomes an eye-catcher, especially in the dark. White light highlights its contours when the vehicle is stationary and while driving.

An illuminating experience on entry.

The Dynamic Light Carpet illuminates the door areas when entering and exiting the vehicle for safety reasons, and also welcomes and inspires with light animations.

What is the range of the BMW i5?

When the BMW i5 is fully charged, you can cover distances of up to 582 km (WLTP). This enables you to manage your daily routine without any problems. However, you are also well equipped for more distant destinations with this range.

How long does it take to charge the BMW i5?

That depends on which charging station you choose. If you connect the BMW i5 to a Wallbox with 11 kW alternating current, it will take roughly 8.2 hours. The fastest option for charging the BMW i5 is to use a direct current (DC) charging station with a maximum of 205 kW. In this case, you can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in only 30 minutes.

What is the output of the BMW i5 and where can I find an overview of the technical details?

The BMW i5 eDrive40 is a high-performance electric vehicle with a powerful output of 250 kW (340 hp) and a torque of 400 Nm. It therefore accelerates, from 0 to 100 km/h in only 6.1 seconds. How does recuperative braking work?

As soon as you brake, any kinetic energy generated in the process is converted into electrical energy. This charges the battery and thus increases the range of the BMW i5. It works in a similar way to a bicycle dynamo. This energy-saving and environmentally friendly process is event triggered when you take your foot from the accelerator.

Front design. The front of the BMW iX has been reinterpreted in a futuristic style. The vertically aligned BMW kidney grille particularly highlights the progressive appearance of the SAV, in combination with the narrowest twin headlights ever produced by BMW for standard production vehicles.

Side view. The generously proportioned rectangular contours around the wheel arches consciously focus attention on the wheels. The flush door handles, the frameless doors and the window outline, known as the “Streamflow”, that tapers towards the rear are all harmoniously integrated into the appearance.

Rear design. Large surfaces, the narrowest rear lights of the BMW Group, and a seamlessly integrated tailgate produce a modern presence. The large diffuser elements optimise aerodynamics and, together with the flat underbody, improve range.
